The core Wu-Tang member takes us on a wild ride.

The legendary Staten Island rapper, U-God, from the famed Wu-Tang Clan has been embedded in hip-hop since the early ‘90s. Known for crafting rewind-worthy bars and for being one of the founding Wu-Tang members, U-God has cultivated an impressive fanbase during his tenure who relishes in acrobatic microphone skills. Last Friday, he satiated these loyal fans by dropping his fifth solo studio album, Venom, released on Babygrande Records. The project’s lead single, “Epicenter” featuring Inspectah Deck, Raekwon, and Jackpot Scotty Wotty, recently received an incredibly creative visual treatment.

Premiered by Rolling Stone earlier today, the “Epicenter” video is drenched in alluring animations, mirroring U-God’s career-boosting creativity. From riding on motorcycles and snowmobiles through apocalyptic settings, “Epicenter” hinges upon vivid scenery, and is supplemented by the featured artists’ presences. It is one of U-God’s best videos to date.

In fact, U-God called the “Epicenter” clip “one of [his] most creative visuals to date.” “We went wild with our imaginations to make a video that had no creative boundaries,” he said. “I believe it ranks up there with some of the CLAN’s early videos which were so cutting edge and push the envelope to the max.”
