Part of Tyler, The Creator’s allure is his fiercely independent personality, which manifests itself in his unique music and eccentric on-screen presence. No matter the situation, Tyler is unadulteratedly himself through and through. The most recent evidence of this integrity comes by way of his interview in partnership with Adobe MAX, an encompassing creativity conference that finishes today.
But there’s one catch with this interview: no one is interviewing Tyler — he is interviewing himself. For anyone else, this would be a little left-of-center. But for Tyler, well, it’s right on-brand.
During his near-five-minute sit down, with himself, the IGOR artist explores a range of topics, including his favorite albums, advice to his 18-year-old self, his ideal scholastic curriculum, and more. As far as the albums go, he regularly frequents Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP, N.E.R.D.’s In Search Of…, Erykah Badu’s Mama’s Gun, and Pharrell’s In My Mind.
