Speaking on landing major artists for Chixtape 5 and plenty more.
This past Friday (November 15th), Tory Lanez added to his Chixtape mixtape series with its fifth installment. An ode to early ‘00s R&B, the 18-track project is doused in nostalgia that celebrate a wonderful chapter in music history. In full promotion mode, Tory’s been making the press rounds, recently stopping by The Breakfast Club to chop it up with Envy, Charla, and Angela Yee.
A media outlet predicated on discovering the truth while employing a humorous, light-hearted angle, Tory’s interview with TBC is filled with insight, laughs, and good vibes. Throughout the 34-minute conversation, the cohorts discuss Chixtape 5, Tory’s descantedly-discussed hairline, the 2000s era R&B, and much more.
While Tory is a bonafide superstar at this point, he still retains an air of humility while discussing Chixtape 5. The first of the series to features heavy-hitting talent, including T-Pain, Jagged Edge, Fabolous, and plenty more, Lanez couldn’t believe that he was able to land so many A-level artists — especially The Dream, who’s featured on “Luv Ya Gyal // Love Sounds.”
As per usual, the sit down yields a fun, freewheeling conversation that further illuminates Tory’s good-natured disposition.
