In the super-dank remix of the week category comes Canibus’ “Golden Terra of Rap” produced by the legendary DJ Premier. Von Pea and Donwill of Tanya Morgan, TRUTHLiVE, and the up-and-coming Moe Green all keep it one-hundred on the final track from Canibus‘ forthcoming tenth album C Of Tranquility which drops October 5th. C Of Tranquility is set to feature production from Scram Jones, J-Zone, D.R. Period, Jake One, Domingo, amongst others.

Not to be outdone, Von Pea hits us with the latest track off his upcoming album, Pea’s Gotta Have It. The Tanya Morgan member spits some hot fire over a contemporary soul beat as he’s joined by Che Grand and Elucid. Pea’s Gotta Have It drops October 12th; rumor has it this album will have some craziness on it.

The Milwaukee spitter from eMC is back with a dope track featuring the Bundies on the hook. Everyone in eMC knows what’s good with real music (The Show is a personal all-time favorite), so it comes as no surprise that Stricklin made this a genuinely hot song with cross-over potential.

La Coka Nostra/Special Teamz member, Slaine, teamed up with one of my favorite producers, Statik Selketah, to represent Boston. I guess Slaine’s casted for every movie that’s set in Beantown these days because he actually appears in the Ben Affleck hit, The Town. The trumpet sample on this track is ill and Slaine is mad entertaining (“push you off your f*cking pedestal/they tell me knock it off“).

Today, 7L & Esoteric dropped the latest leak from their 1212 album. Alchemist kills this organ covered 7L beat, although Eso’s flow is on point as well. 1212 drops October 12th and features guest appearances from Inspectah Deck, ILL Bill, Sadat X, Celph Titled, Apathy, and more.

Speaking of Boston, Singapore Kane is one of the most slept-on lyricists that I’ve heard in a minute. I’ve never heard dude spit a wack verse and this track is no exception. Teaming up with Bekay and El Da Sensei (of Artifacts), the trio of Coalmine Records artists pay homage to Dilated Peoples by going in over their classic Alchemist produced instrumental. Bekay really impressed me on this one by the way.

Shifting to the West Coast, Black Hippy member Ab-Soul chills it out while bragging about his skill, talking about “Power Rangers and oatmeal,” and complaining about how broke he is. The production on this one is incredible. “All Feelin” is a winner if you ask me.

Rakaa’s Crown Of Thorns is easily one of my favorite releases of 2010. “Ambassador Slang” is the posse cut of Mr. Iriscience’s album. The track is laced with quotables from the get-go, even though one verse isn’t in English. If you haven’t copped Crown Of Thorns, take my advice and do it!

Bonus: Sadly the most sought-after New York record store, Fat Beats, closed its doors for good on September 4th. Those in attendance for the store’s final week had the chance to witness Immortal Technique, Artifacts, Statik Selektah, Supernatural, ILL Bill, Just Blaze, and many more perform live. The legendary DJ Premier dug in the crates and spun nearly 45 minutes of hotness for a packed crown of vinyl appreciators. Everything from J Dilla to EPMD, Gang Starr to M.O.P. was played by the vinyl connoisseur. I don’t know why Premo has a picture of Shyne on his shirt though. Unfortunately Sunday also marked the closing of Fat Beats Los Angeles location…RIP Fat Beats; the record label still exists though.
