Swae supplying the comedy with this one.
When you’re an artist of Swae Lee’s caliber, you can’t be confined to one medium; you need multiple avenues of expression. And while he’s a highly regarded singer and songwriter, Swae Lee’s artistic prowess transcends music into the visual realm. For his new “Someone Said” video, the Rae Sremmurd crooner dons his creative hat to impart a novel offering.
A play on cliché infomercials, Swae’s new video — which complements the single he dropped last week — entertainingly parodies a variety of these commercials that flooded TV sets during the early aughts. From soliciting an “800” number to purchase his faux album, Swae-Sync Greatest Hits Collection 2001, alongside a Backstreet Boys-styled scene of backup dancers, or poking fun at the infamous ShamWow guy, the “Someone Said” video breathes a different energy into the Shawn Ferrari-produced record — and these two are just two of the parody devices employed.
“Someone Said” is directed by Tyler Yee and Swae himself.
