The rebuttal to “Duppy Freestyle” has arrived.
All’s fair in love, war, and hip-hop, right? Well, according to Pusha T, not only is everything fair, every single cranny of one’s adversary is eligible for discussion in a rap beef. And last night, Push did just that on his “Duppy Freestyle” retaliation, “The Story of Adidon”.
To say this diss track is brutal would be an understatement. “The Story of Adidon” makes “Hit ‘Em Up” seem like the Barney theme song; it’s easily the most eviscerating, scathing, downright disgusting diss I’ve ever heard–and that’s why we love King Push.
If “Duppy Freestyle” was a knock down, then “The Story of Adidon” is the scene from Breaking Bad when Gus slits his employee’s throat with the box cutter. King Push is currently sitting at home petting Drake’s jugular like a villain stroking his cat. Beginning with pedestrian chirps like mentioning Drake’s absent father to essentially calling his mother a side piece, Push elevates this hateful rhetoric by discussing Drake’s alleged baby momma, how Drake is ironically a neglectful father, and even went as far as to satirize Drizzy’s best friend/producer’s, 40, life-threatening disease, MS.
Now the only question is, how will Drake respond?
