Produced by a very familiar name…
As one of hip-hop’s overlords, Pusha T typically doesn’t waste his breath on singles — his musical output is a calculated process that usually, as of late, materializes as full-length projects. He’s earned a dispersed release cycle, to create anticipation. But part of Pusha T’s allure emanates from his unpredictability. Last night, King Push delivered a surprise single in “Sociopath” featuring Kash Doll.
Linking up with his good friend, collaborator, and one of the music industry’s most polarizing figures, “Sociopath” is produced by the Kanye West. Ye and Push’s collaborative history is extensive, culminating in their joint effort on the Grammy-nominated Daytona album, which includes standout tracks like “Come Back Baby” and “The Games We Play.” Created during the fabled Wyoming sessions, Daytona was actually supposed to also feature “Sociopath,” according to a leaked tracklist from West, but never made the cut. Now, we can resume living the Wyoming recording experience by listening to this new loosie.
Over a chilling instrumental, Pusha T laces the Kanye’s ominous production with his staple menacing rhetoric. Speaking on luxurious accents that adorn his life, Pusha T embodies the Daytona theme of having the luxury of time to create timeless music.
