The Memphis rapper is on a world tour.
After releasing the well-received albums RESET and 43VA HEARTLESS, in 2018 and 2019, respectively, Moneybagg Yo has become a consistent featured artist, appearing on a range of projects: he’s on fellow Memphis artist’s BlocBoy JB’s I Am Me; he lends his distinct voice to Lil Keed’s Long Live Mexico. Yesterday, though, Moneybagg Yo reclaimed the sole spotlight by releasing the video for one of 43VA HEARTLESS’ hits, “Drais.”
Acting somewhat of a manifestation of his success, the “Drais” video takes the viewer on a tour of Moneybagg’s lavish lifestyle. Hopping off PJ’s and landing in Vegas, the “Say Na” artist uses the “Drais” video to excerpt his glamorous surroundings. For most, a day in the life of Moneybagg would be a surreal experience, replete with decorations that only dreams could conjure; for Moneybagg, it’s all just a part of being a rap star.
He’s put in the work. He’s leveraged his resolve for outsized success. He’s been, and continues to be, prolific. Now, Moneybagg Yo can proudly say he’s transcended his humble Memphis beginnings to become an international rap attraction. The “Drais” video is simply a routine microcosm of his hustle and tenacity.
