Meek is free, and the fans are ecstatic.

Yesterday marked a historic hip-hop occasion: the 25th Hot 97 Summer Jam festival. One of the industry’s most prolific outlets, Hot 97 has earned its reputation of hip-hop excellence through their endearing personalities, apt music taste, and their continuous advancement of the genre. One of the main reasons for their cultural significance resides in their gatekeeping roles, which is manifested by their iconic summer concert.

Highlighting the star-studded lineup was Meek Mill’s boisterous and creative entrance: the recently freed Meek rode in on a four-wheeler, paying homage to his proudly repped city of Philadelphia. Furthering the excitement surrounding his arrival, Meek dazzled the engaged crowd with his biggest hit, and Philly anthem, “Dreams and Nightmares”. The lid of Metlife Stadium was teetering on the edge of explosion prior to Meek rolling-up; this performance blew it clean off.=

Other notable performers included: Lil Wayne, A$AP Ferg, Tory Lanez, A Boogie, and more. Tidal also provided a live stream of the event.
