2020 has decisively been a shit storm of a year. Bookended by Kobe’s passing and the world being submitted by COVID, which have become footnotes to the continued civil injustice, it’s been a year that has tested the human spirit and emotional elasticity. Capturing these poignant emotions adequately through art, Lil Wayne delivered a powerful performance of his 2009 “Kobe” track at last night’s BET awards.
