With the Cole Bennett-directed visual.
It’s been a busy past couple of days for Chicago’s Lil Durk. While he’s been battling court cases, these legal issues haven’t interfered with his music passion. Over the weekend, the 26-year-old MC linked with fellow Chicago creative, Cole Bennett, to release his “Green Light” music video, and today, he’s joined by Nicki Minaj on his new track, “Extravagant.”
For the “Green Light” video, Cole Bennett laces Durk with his staple graphics-heavy aesthetic, materializing as in-and-out-of-focus shots and ostensibly borrowing some early ‘00s music video influence — a la Hype Williams. While this is arguably a “subdued” video for the Lyrical Lemonade founder, the “Green Light” visual makes for an engaging two-and-a-half-minute journey.
Not one to rest on his laurels, Durk came followed this up almost immediately with his new Nicki Minaj-assisted banger, “Extravagant” — a graphic exposition that finds the two vocal protagonists not pulling any punches when it comes to talking dirty.
Lil Durk’s upcoming album, Love Songs 4 The Streets II, is slated for an August 2nd release.
