“I’m So Gone” was released — until it wasn’t.
For several years, rumors of a collaboration between Kodie Shane and Lil Uzi Vert have floated throughout the hip-hop ether. Hope turned into false starts, and eventually, fans began doubting its existence all together — after all, given Uzi’s evasive status, up until recently, it wasn’t unrealistic to think this joint effort would ever materialize. Well, today that uncertainty has been upended, as the two have finally come through with the elusive “I’m So Gone” collab — sort of.
In a weird twist of fate, the sought-after track made its arrival on the internet — but only for a moment. Dropped earlier today, “I’m So Gone” existed briefly on Kodie’s Soundcloud, and then… nothing. It was removed as quickly as it arrived. While it’s not quite clear why the song was deleted, fan frustration is presumably mounting to palpable heights.
A track over three-years in the making has returned to the vault, and it’s unknown when — rather, if — it will see the light of day again.
