Schedule for an October 25th release.
Kanye West’s elusive Jesus Is King album has been teased, announced, delayed, tweaked, delayed, so on and so forth. Originally scheduled for a September 27th release, and following whatever didn’t happen with Yandhi, Ye’s ninth studio album is more of an abstract concept than upcoming album at this point.
But with Kanye’s fluid and evolutionary artistic approach, he’s managed to maintain fan interest by announcing a Jesus Is King companion piece: an IMAX film, set to release on October 25th. Today, the generational artist has released the trailer.
Featuring a gospel rendition of “Say You Will,” which is on-par for Jesus Is King’s expected aesthetic given his promise to release a project reminiscent of Sunday Service, the 73-second preview is a somewhat cryptic offering: the lone imagery is a Mark 1:15 proverb, followed by Jesus is King, A Kanye West Film, Directed By Nick Knight.
While it’s unclear what to expect exactly with this IMAX release, it does seem like sooner than later, the Jesus Is King album will be available — so we hope.
