Featuring Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Gunna, Young Thug, and more.
As promised a few days ago, Future and Juice WRLD have delivered their collaborative project, WRLD On Drugs.
Coming in at a surprisingly robust 16-tracks, 49-minutes, WRLD On Drugs boasts an impressive feature list, including: Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Gunna, Young Thug, and more.
Synthesizing their complementary styles into an enticing offering, Juice and Future maintain a positive balance throughout the album, showing a harmonious chemistry that aids one another rather than saturating. While they certainly harbor vocal similarities, like providing melodies and contorting words, they exist and thrive within different sonic pockets: Juice’s vocal raspiness sounds like the youthful counterpart to Future’s mature, polished sound.
WRLD On Drugs is also an apt manifestation of how regional importance in hip-hop has kind of eroded, making way for a more ubiquitous sound; Future is, of course, from Atlanta, while Juice WRLD hails from The Windy City–they sound like they could be father and son.
