uknowhatimsayin¿ drops October 4th.
After a palpable wait, Danny Brown’s new album, uknowwhatimsayin¿, is on the horizon, slated for an October 4th release. A couple of weeks ago, Danny introduced us to his fifth studio album through the single “Dirty Laundry,” replete with a zany, on-brand video. Now, the eccentric and exciting XXX artist is back with the next single, “Best Life.”
Over a nostalgic, euphoric beat tinged with ominous accents, the second uknowwhatimsayin¿ single sounds like a sonic continuation of “Dirty Laundry” while retaining its own distinct personality. Produced by the one and only Q-Tip, the “Best Life” production possesses unmistakeable New York elements, tied with a jazzy, ethereal bow.
As one of the game’s most underrated lyricists, Danny uses wordplay and vivid imagery to paint a contrasting picture of his harrowing upbringing and fruitful current status. Danny has this beautiful gift of making the listener feel like they are truly experiencing life through his vantage point; on “Best Life,” Q-Tip provides the canvas, Danny supplies the paint — it’s a beautiful, kindred relationship.
uknowwhatimsayin¿ follows the 2016 Atrocity Exhibition, and will be entirely executively produced by Q-Tip.
