RIP, George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and the countless lives taken by bigotry.

This pandemic will pass, quarantine will end, social normalcy will eventually resume. But when will this groundhog day of repugnant racial inequalities finally see its end? In the wake of George Floyd’s tragic murder, it feels like there isn’t a light at the end of this infinite tunnel — only the blood-stained path of racism.

To give voice to the cries and screams that have fallen on the deaf ears of America’s majority, people have resorted to looting and protesting — anything to disrupt the silence that lubricates the wheels of racism. As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once profoundly said, “A riot is the language of the unheard.”

Another voice that has erupted to quell this apathy is from those with impactful platforms. Whether it’s a celebrity making a statement on social media, news anchors offering insightful anecdotes, an athlete spreading philanthropy, people are using their powerful positions to — both literally and figuratively — stand on the front lines. Today, Conway stares these unconscionable acts of hate in the face with his new song, “Front Lines.”
