“New Music Friday” keeps on going.
Following the epic start to today’s new music Friday, a few other contenders have entered their hats into the ring by releasing fresh singles. Russ, Blac Youngsta, and, of course, Wiz Khalifa.
Tapping Rexx Life Raj, Russ follows his recent single barrage by releasing “ON 10.” On brand with his previous newly-dropped singles — including “Crown” and “Grammy Bag Freestyle” — “ON 10” is a motivational song, encouraging fans to follow their dreams, and to always persist no matter the circumstances.
Next up, we’ve got Blac Youngsta with a remix to his single, “Cut Up,” featuring Tory Lanez and G-Eazy. Although Youngsta was reportedly arrested yesterday, no time was wasted pumping out new music for the Memphic MC. The original version of “Cut Up” came on Youngsta’s eponymous May-released three-track EP, which also includes “Court Tomorrow” and “Lay Down.”
At this point, we’ve become spoiled — Wiz just isn’t taking his foot, or mouth, off the gas. Over the past two weeks or so, the hazy-eyed rapper has been on a freestyle tear, dropping off a new loosie almost on the daily. Today, he taps YG for his latest single, “Shouldn’t Matter.” It’s still uncertain if this surplus of music will culminate in an official project, but hey, even if it doesn’t, we’re not complaining — these new Wiz tracks have been incredible.
