Dreamville’s back with another one.

J. Cole’s Universal Music Group imprint, Dreamville Records, has made their mission clear since its 2007 inception: create and proliferate music with integrity that trends commercially. 12-years into their existence, and they’ve achieved that goal in spades.

As they continue increasing their presence, and are in an arms race with fellow transcendent label, TDE, Dreamville has amassed an impressive roster who fully embodies this specific ethos. Among those boundary-pushing individuals are Bas and the quickly-rising JID. Today, they’ve linked on the former’s fire new track, “Fried Rice.”

Two respected rappers with distinct styles, Bas and JID synthesize these separate-but-equal aesthetics into a fierce offering with a vicious bite. An unassuming start that finds Bas spitting in a relatively laidback manner, the ferocity of “Fried Rice” swells with the gradually-ascending production and accompanying rapid-fire flow courtesy of the Dreamville starters. KQuick’s dynamic production provides an ideal environment for Bas and JID to do what they do best: shine. And shine they do.
