Subject to multiple remixes, including the omnipresent Billy Ray Cyrus-assisted one, the career-catapulting single has received another new look courtesy of Anderson .Paak.
For a taping of BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge YouTube series, .Paak, in all of his musical glory, offered his own jazzy, soulful rendition. Playing alongside a live band — with percussion handled by Anderson himself — and backup singers, .Paak enlists his staple raspy vocals to deliver an endearing texture to an already outsized single.
Anderson’s live version furthers the narrative that he is one of his generation’s most versatile and talented musicians.
