88Rising’s Rich Brian is a unique talent. While his rapping chops are undeniable, he’s also an entertaining personality, evidenced by his work with Complex’s First We Feast channel — plus, the “Dat $tick” video that launched him into the mainstream. And while he seems committed to amusing his fans through a medley of mediums, Rich Brian has gone back to his lyrical roots on the recently-released “Tokyo Drift Freestyle.”
Just north of two-minutes-long, Rich Brian’s latest offering is a jam-packed clinic on lyrical excellence — and superior breathing control. Ripping off a flurry of 16s, on seemingly one breath, Rich tackles the song from the 2006 film, Tokyo Drift, with aplomb.
