A single off of FKJ’s upcoming EP, Ylang Ylang.

French multi-instrumentalist FKJ (French Kiwi Juice) has earned industry respect and cachet thanks to his individualistic music sensibility, finding him collaborating with an eclectic group of artists. He’s worked with Col3trane; he lent a hand to Masego on the wildly-popular “Tadow,” currently sitting at over 100mm Spotify streams. Today, he deepens these diverse connections by enlisting Bas for “Risk.”

A single off of FKJ’s upcoming EP, Ylang Ylang, the Bas-assisted track is an introspective offering that finds the Dreamville MC reflecting on risks he’s taken in his life, and how they’ve yielded various outcomes. In almost a stream-of-conscious story arc, Bas weaves in and out of these tangential narratives to paint the bigger mosaic of how the notion of risk-taking has impacted his life and perspective.

FKJ’s Ylang Ylang EP will be his first solo project since his acclaimed eponymous 2017 album. According to the 28-year-old hyphenate, it will arrive next week.
