Yup, it’s happening.

Metro Boomin and 21 Savage struck gold (literally — it is RIAA-certified Gold) with the 2016 daring, ominous street bible, Savage Mode. A breakout mixtape for the producer and rapper, including hits like “X” featuring Future and “No Heart,” Savage Mode transformed both Metro and 21 from local Atlanta acts to mainstream threats, proving that the menacing and unflinching content resonated as much commercially as it did locally.

And while the two have gone on to develop individual superstar brands, they retain an ironclad bond. Now, it looks like they will take a temporary break from their respective solo careers to return to these collaborative roots — yes, Savage Mode 2 is confirmed.

During the first leg of his I Am > I Was tour this past Friday, July 19th, 21 Savage took a beat to address the clamorous L.A. crowd: “Los Angeles, California, I want to say R.I.P. to Nipsey Hussle. We lost a real soldier. Savage Mode 2 on the muthafuckin way.” The audience’s ensuing eruption rivaled their energy and excitement for 21’s musical performances.

While other album details — like release date and other features — remain sparse, fans can rejoice knowing that the Savage Mode sequel exists and is on the way.

In the infamous words of former Jets’ linebacker Bart Scott, “Can’t wait.”
