Wisconsin-born Trapo is a manifestation of his varying influences and interests. A man whose style is informed as much by his adolescent neo-soul and rap affinity as it is his love for writing and participating in his church’s choir, Trapo is not your ordinary artist. His sound is far from ordinary.
Today, the burgeoning 20-year-old rapper continues that pursuit of artistic individuality by releasing his first track of 2019: A3C Volume 8’s latest single, “In This Car”.
Consistent with Trapo’s past, “In This Car” has a distinct texture unique to his lengthy catalogue. A self-possessed track, the new A3C single establishes its identity from the start by employing a slowed-down tempo, rooted in the rich lo-fi production, that facilitates Trapo’s hazy, entrancing flow.
Joining Cap Gold, TheGoodPerry, Bali Baby, and the freshly-premiered Chris King, Trapo is the latest to offer a taste of what’s to come on the soon-to-be-released A3C Volume 8. Congruous with its past of being one of the industry’s most apt talent barometers, on February 22nd all of the project’s artists will be revealed–potentially the game’s next brightest stars.
