Flocko’s three-year musical drought is coming to a close.
It’s been three long years since A$AP Rocky’s 2015 experimental album, AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP, the successor to his debut album, LONG.LIVE.A$AP. Luckily, it seems that that will all change come this Friday, as Rocky has just presumably unveiled his forthcoming album’s (Testing) release date with a cryptic Instagram post.
A hazy, pixelated photo of Rocky and an unknown figure using their hands to portray “525” appeared earlier today on Flocko’s IG, and attracted attention from good friend and frequent collaborator, Tyler, The Creator, who commented “does this mean may 25th u cryptic bitch?”. Apparently, all signs point to yes, as Complex later confirmed this news.
While Rocky has had a musical presence to a limited degree over this solo hiatus, it has paled in comparison to what we’d grown accustomed to. With a shifted focus spanning multiple ventures, like developing his business and fashion lines, Rocky has temporarily sidestepped the musical limelight. But given his adventurous creative pallet and palpable influence on hip-hop’s younger generation, this absence hasn’t deterred fans’ anticipation for his album; if anything, it’s strengthened it.
Get ready–Testing drops this Friday.
