It’s officially the last weekend of the summer. The autumnal hallmarks are bursting through the orange-tinted trees, foreshadowing winter’s horizon. But don’t get too stressed about the waning summer sunshine — rejoice in the final days.
To properly celebrate the last weekend of the warm season, DJ Forever Cold is back with this week’s edition of the Forever Cold❄️ playlist. Today’s list is headlined by: Pop Smoke, Lil Tecca, Toosii, Blac Youngsta and MoneyBagg Yo, and Justin Bieber and Chance The Rapper.
Kicking things off, the camp for late and dearly-missed Pop Smoke has delivered a remix to his Shoot For The Moon Aim For The Stars cut, “Mood Swings.” The revamped version features Lil Tjay, who was also on the original, as well as Summer Walker. Despite prematurely vacating this realm, Pop Smoke’s voice can still be celebrated.
Following the Brooklyn Drill pioneer is teenage sensation, Lil Tecca, who’s come through with his debut studio album, Virgo. The new Tecca offering follows his August 2019-released project, We Love You Tecca, which features his career-catapulting track, “Ransom.” Virgo is a 19-track endeavor that features Polo G, Lil Durk, Skrillex, DJ Scheme, Lil Uzi Vert, and more. The Polo G- and Lil Durk-assisted “When You Down” has been added to this week’s list.
Next up, the quickly-rising North Carolina MC Toosii has delivered his new project, Poetic Pain. The successor to his other 2020 tape, Platinum Heart, Toosii’s latest offering continues showcasing his versatile melodic skills and storytelling penchant. Keep an eye on Toosii — he’s got a bright future ahead of him. His track “Telly Telly” has made this week’s Forever Cold❄️ playlist.
Keeping it down south, two of Memphis’ finest, Blac Youngsta and MoneyBagg Yo, have come through with their collaborative album, Code Red. Engorged with swag and a southern soul, the joint offering values action more than talk, as both Youngsta and MoneyBagg prove how they’re two of the south’s leading voices. Their track “Gun Smoke” featuring 42 Dugg has been added to this week’s list.
Releasing another loaded collab, Justin Bieber has tapped Chance the Rapper for the spiritually-fueled single, “Holy.”
Other artists to make this week’s list include: slowthai, Action Bronson, Shy Glizzy, Tyga, Mozzy, $tupid Young, Busta Rhymes, Baby Keem, Brent Faiyaz, Young Nudy, They., Rapsody, and Rah Swish.
