Welcome back to another edition of “New Music Friday.” Today, we’re supplied with fresh album heat courtesy of Kevin Gates, Denzel Curry, and Skepta.
Kicking things off with a six-track EP is NOLA’s own, Kevin Gates. On Only The Generals Gon Understand, KG delivers yet another sound body of work that soars off the strength of his unique voice and contemplative writing. Only The Generals Gon Understand features Gates’ hit single, “Yukatán.”
Next, we’ve got the anticipated fourth studio album from South Florida’s Denzel Curry in Zuu. Anchored by singles “Ricky” and “Speedboat,” Zuu continues Zel’s dynamic artistic journey, as we witness our protagonist discuss life and death, and everything in between throughout the project’s 12-tracks.
Rounding out today’s “New Music Friday” is London’s rap ambassador, Skepta, with his fifth studio album, Ignorance Is Bliss. Following his acclaimed 2016 project Konnichiwa, Skepta’s new release includes 13-tracks, featuring fellow British artists J Hus, B Live, Lancey Foux, among others.
