Featuring releases from G Herbo, Gunna, and more.
Just when the polar vortex is at its worst, “New Music Friday” is here to heat things up. Starting February off on a strong note, this week’s edition of fresh music features an eclectic range of artists, from G Herbo to Ariana Grande, from Wiz Khalifa to Gunna.
Starting things off, G Herbo linked up with super producer Southside for the sequel, Still Swervin, to their 2018 collaboration, Swervo. The joint project is a 15-track offering whose features include Juice WRLD, Lil 40, and Gunna.
Joining the “New Music Friday” conversation with a solo offering, Gunna has come through with his latest single, “One Call”. Announced earlier this week via Instagram post of the track’s cover art, shared by Gunna and Young Thug, “One Call” continues to demonstrate Gunna’s uncanny ability to create a melody and ride a beat.
It wasn’t the easiest start to the week for Ariana Grande. Embarrassingly, she received a tattoo written in Chinese characters that was intended to commemorate her latest hit, “7 rings”, but instead it loosely translates to small hibachi-style grill. Setbacks aside, Ariana has decided to let the past be the past, and charge forward by releasing new music. Today, she’s linked up with 2 Chainz for a remix to, yes, “7 rings”.
One of rap’s favorite stoners is back: Wiz Khalifa has tapped Trippie Redd and Preme for his new single, “Alright”. On the three-minute track, Wiz and Preme handle the lyrical lifting by exchanging verses, leaving Trippie to shine on the hook.
