Featuring Xxxtentacion, French Montana, Roddy Ricch, and more.
As promised, today’s “New Music Friday” does not disappoint. From Xxxtentacion’s final posthumous album, Bad Vibes Forever, to Roddy Ricch’s debut studio album, Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial, today’s releases embody hip-hop’s wide spectrum.
The album that will finally put X’s soul to rest, Bad Vibes Forever follows X’s structural mold of suturing together a large collection (25-tracks, 57-minutes) of brusque tracks to paint a mosaic of his experiences and perspective. Bad Vibes Forever reflects the respect he’s garnered throughout his career, both alive and transitioned, as he’s joined by legends like Rick Ross, Blink-182, Lil Wayne; he also has features from today’s emerging stars, like Trippie Redd, Joey Badass, Tory Lanez.
Celebrating his hospital release, French Montana has come through with his third studio album, Montana. The project’s been teased out for some time, as the Drake-assisted “No Stylist” dropped in 2018, and French has come through already with a collection of singles, including the star-studded “Twisted” with Juciy J, A$AP Rocky, and Logic.
Today, Compton’s Roddy Ricch makes his official debut by way of his rookie studio LP, Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial. Roddy revealed the 16-song tracklist several days ago, which included one mystery feature, but that seems to have been removed from the final product. However, Roddy’s still managed to recruit features from heavy-hitters, like Meek Mill on “Peta” and Ty Dolla $ign on “Bacc Seat.”
Max B, 1TakeJay, and Fat Joe & Dre have also come through with new projects.
