Featuring debut release from Compton’s Boogie, Everything’s For Sale.
Another Friday is upon us, and with it brings the promise of great new music. While today’s edition of “New Music Friday” is rather sparse, the superior quality compensates for the lacking quantity. Only one release for today, it comes from the exciting, contemplative west coast ambassador, Boogie: he has come through with his debut studio LP, Everything’s For Sale.
Both his inaugural LP release and the first that he’s put out on Shady Records, Everything’s For Sale is an exercise in pairing the written word with musical prowess, formulating an engaging piece of art.
Home to 13-tracks, Boogie’s new album acts as catharsis for the 29-year-old rapper, who packages his Compton adolescence and perception of the industry into the 38-minute-album. Calling upon fellow pensive artists, like JID and 6lack, Everything’s For Sale is a calibrated effort in every conceivable fashion. Oh yes, and it also includes a feature from label head and legend, Eminem, on “Rainy Days”–the album’s eighth track.
