Featuring PnB Rock x King Von, Lil Skies, Peewee Longway, Duke Deuce, and more.
With the weekend on the horizon, it’s time to enjoy the bevy of this week’s dope releases. Consistent with past weeks, today’s “New Music Friday” features a variety of drops from perennial stars and hungry burgeoning artists alike. Curating the most necessary tracks to listen to, DJ Forever Cold is back with the latest edition of the Forever Cold❄️ playlist.
Headlining today’s Forever Cold❄️ playlist are: Lil Skies, PnB Rock x King Von, Peewee Longway x Cassius Jay, and Bia.
Kicking things off, Pennsylvania’s Lil Skies has come through with his highly-anticipated new album, Unbothered. Marketed by a collection of strong lead singles, Lil Skies’ latest album effort is a 14-track ride that features Wiz Khalifa and Lil Durk; it follows his 2019 LP, Shelby. Given that roughly two-years have passed since Skies’ debut album, his sophomore follow-up had been clamored for by his rabid fanbase. Now, their prayers have been answered — Unbothered has arrived. Lil Skies’ track “Havin My Way” featuring Lil Durk has been added to today’s playlist.
Staying in Pennsylvania, Philadelphia’s PnB Rock recently released a dynamic single in the King Von-assisted “Rose Gold” track. Another strong posthumous offering from the dearly-departed King Von, this new collaboration leans into the respective parties’ melodic and lyrical sensibilities. It’s a bittersweet moment, as the song itself excels, but it’s a tangible reminder of King Von’s stunted life and career. Rest easy, Von.
Next up, the fan-favorite Peewee Longway has come through with an exciting new project, Longway Sinatra 2, with Cassius Jay. The sequel to the 2016 project, Peewee and Cassius’ new collaborative tape is doused in southern vibes and dizzying sonics. The two architect an imaginative soundscape, replete with vivid imagery, head-bumping beats, and trap tales. The 17-track tape features Hoodrich Pablo Juan, Blac Youngsta, Lil Baby, Tee Grizzley, Lil Yachty, and more. “Trap Out” featuring has made today’s list.
Last, but certainly not least, we’ve spotlighted rapper and singer Bia with “Whole Lotta Money” — a track from her 2020 album, FOR CERTAIN. Released this past December, Bia’s eight-track project further demonstrates her encompassing musical command; “Whole Lotta Money” serves as an apt microcosm for this.
Other artists to be included in the 1/22 Forever Cold❄️ playlist are: Lil Wayne, YBN Nahmir, Rich The Kid, Flo Milli, Wale, BRS Kash, GoodLook, and Duke Deuce.
